Ash

Ash is a Project Manager and Live Sound Engineer at the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) in Mumbai, where he manages 70-80 live events every month across six venues.

By day, he works with sound — mixing everything from Hindustani classical to jazz, from experimental theatre to international music. By night (and early morning, and between soundchecks), he writes.

His essays explore consciousness, non-duality, Vedic philosophy, and the strange business of being a human being who is aware of being aware. He draws from Advaita Vedanta, personal experience, and over a decade of sitting behind mixing consoles watching silence become music.

He is interested in the constructed nature of personality, the relationship between awareness and experience, and why we believe the stories we tell about ourselves.

When not writing or mixing sound, he creates music, explores AI-assisted creative workflows, and studies Vedic astrology and cosmic cycles.
